President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Monday said his administration will now prioritize delivering immediate solutions to everyday issues, acknowledging public frustration over slow government services and delayed project results.

Speaking in the pilot episode of his “BBM Podcast,” Marcos reflected on the outcome of the 2025 midterm elections, saying it revealed two key messages from the public: they are tired of politics and “disappointed” with government performance.

“Para sa akin, I have two conclusions dito sa eleksyon. Una, nagsawa na ang Pilipino sa pulitika (First, Filipinos are tired of politics),” Marcos said, when asked to comment on the recently-concluded 2025 midterm elections.

“Ang mensahe, sa amin lahat – tama na ‘yung pamumulitika ninyo at kami naman ang asikasuhin ninyo (The message to all of us is: enough politics, take care of us instead).”

His second takeaway: “Disappointed ang tao sa serbisyo ng gobyerno. Hindi nila nararamdaman at masyadong mabagal ang galaw (People are disappointed with government service. They do not feel and the government is moving slow).”

Marcos admitted the administration had concentrated on large, long-term infrastructure projects in key sectors like health, tourism, and transport.

He said the government would now balance long-term programs with fast, practical solutions that improve daily life.

“Talagang mamadaliin na namin ‘yung immediate solutions na puwedeng gawin kaagad (We will now accelerate immediate solutions that can be implemented quickly),” he said as he acknowledged shortcomings in addressing everyday issues like traffic and long queues in public transport.

“Hindi natin nabigyan ng sapat ng attention ‘yung mas maliit na bagay, para maging mas maginhawa ang pang-araw-araw na buhay ng tao (We didn’t give enough attention to the small things that make daily life easier),” he said. (PNA)
