Kuya Rey Bufi: A Kwentista’s Journey

Through floods, storms, and long walks, Rey learned that storytelling is not just performance but presence, showing up even when conditions say otherwise, because children kept showing up too.

Power Without Momentum

Power remains, but momentum slips, as the presidency of Ferdinand Marcos Jr. drifts from direction to reaction, showing how leadership can weaken without a crisis.

When Diplomacy Becomes Theater

The Department of Health (DOH) is keen on expanding vaccination coverage in the Davao Region as it kicked off Monday its nationwide Bakunahang Bayan Part 2 here.

In a media interview, Dr. Annabelle Yumang, DOH-Region 11 director, described the Bakunahang Bayan Part 2 as “a great opportunity” for the public to increase not only the region’s vaccine coverage but the whole country as well.

“The local government units and other sectors of the government here in Davao Region continuously work for the benefit of the people,” she said.

Meanwhile, Dr. Maria Rosario Singh-Vergeire, the DOH officer-in-charge who personally visited the city, said she wanted to emphasize the thrust of Bakunahang Bayan as it would help the public fight coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

The three-day Bakunahang Bayan aims to reach the national goals for vaccination and booster coverage in the country by making primary series and booster doses more accessible through the settings-based approach with the vaccination rollout focusing on service delivery close to homes, communities and workplaces.

“We know that vaccination is still the best defense against Covid-19,” Vergeire said.

Vergeire visited the Tomas Claudio Health Center and witnessed the vaccination process at the venue.

She also checked the DOH-11 office if it has an ample supply of vaccines.

Vergeire also thanked the DOH-11 personnel for their efforts in the fulfillment of the Universal Health Care (UHC) program.

“Again, we are continuously asking for your support to achieve the promises of the UHC,” she said. (PNA)
