Malacañang on Friday said survey numbers are not a measure of success and should not be used to manipulate public perception.
The statement came after results of the Social Weather Stations survey conducted Nov. 23 to 30, 2025 showed that only 40 percent of 1,200 respondents were satisfied with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s performance, lower than the 54 percent garnered by Vice President Sara Z. Duterte.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the latest figures were a surprise and that it remained unclear how the results were tabulated.
She expressed skepticism over the poll results, stressing that Marcos is busy working while Duterte is on vacation.
“Sana po ang mga survey ratings na ito ay hindi magsilbing paglilinlang sa katotohanan kung sino ba talaga ang nagtatrabaho at sino ang hindi (I hope these survey ratings do not serve to mislead the truth about who is really working and who is not),” Castro said.
Despite the latest survey results, Castro said Marcos would continue to fulfill his mandate and work harder to improve Filipinos’ lives.
Castro said surveys are not the real reflection of one’s performance.
“Dahil kahit ano pong maging numero diyan, ang katotohanan, ang Pangulo ang siyang nagtatrabaho at ang ilan ay nagbabakasyon lamang ay hindi po maaaring pasinungalingan ninoman (Because no matter what the numbers are, the truth is that the President is the one working and some are just on vacation, no one can deny it),” she said.
