Kuya Rey Bufi: A Kwentista’s Journey

Through floods, storms, and long walks, Rey learned that storytelling is not just performance but presence, showing up even when conditions say otherwise, because children kept showing up too.

Power Without Momentum

Power remains, but momentum slips, as the presidency of Ferdinand Marcos Jr. drifts from direction to reaction, showing how leadership can weaken without a crisis.

When Diplomacy Becomes Theater

Publicly floating persona non grata threats turns a precise diplomatic tool into applause politics, shifting focus from Chinese misconduct to domestic noise and weakening the very authority the state is meant to protect.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s health condition remains stable but he is currently under medical observation after experiencing discomfort on Wednesday night, Malacañang said Thursday.

In a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said Marcos spent the night under medical observation as a precautionary measure and was advised by his doctors to rest and undergo monitoring.

Marcos was observed at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City but has since been discharged, she said.

“The President spent the night under medical observation as a precautionary measure after experiencing discomfort. His doctors advised rest and monitoring, and his condition remains stable,” Castro said.

Castro said she is not privy to the specific discomfort experienced by the President.

Despite being under medical observation, Marcos continues to carry out his responsibilities, she added.

Castro assured the public that there is no cause for alarm, noting that the President remains capable of performing his duties.

“Kailangan lang din po naming masabi sa inyo kung ano po ‘yung naranasan ng Pangulo kagabi dahil kahit noong madaling araw ay nagtatrabaho ang Pangulo (We also needed to inform you about what the President experienced last night because even in the early hours of the morning, he was still working),” Castro said.

“Malamang po ang naranasan niya ay sobrang pagod sa pagta-trabaho (Most likely, what he experienced was extreme fatigue from work),” the Palace official said.

Castro said Marcos has returned to Malacañan Palace and is expected to hold two private meetings on Thursday afternoon.

The update came after Marcos skipped the Outstanding Young Men 2025 awarding ceremony at Malacañan on Thursday morning.

Executive Secretary Ralph Recto attended the event on Marcos’ behalf.

Castro said Marcos’ public engagements on Friday may still push through, subject to his doctors’ advice. (PNA)
