The Commission on Elections (Comelec) Iloilo City received 417 automated counting machines (ACMs) on Monday, delivered to their hub at the Jubilee Hall, as part of preparations for the upcoming May 12 elections.

“This is the allocation for our 419 voting places. It is now in our hub,” said Comelec Iloilo City Election Assistant Jonathan Sayno in an interview.

Sayno said they will be detailing Philippine National Police personnel to provide 24/7 security until the ACMs are pulled out for delivery to 66 voting centers all over Iloilo City.

The machines are scheduled for delivery to polling centers on May 6, ahead of the final testing and sealing activities set for May 7.

With the ACMs now on hand, Sayno said they are awaiting the arrival of the official ballots expected to be delivered next week. (PNA)
